When CANDDi identifies that two website visitors relate to the same "real-world" person then CANDDi will merge these items together so as to display just one "Merged" Contact on the dashboard. This Contact is identified with a "Merge" header - see image
How does CANDDi know how to merge an "unknown" contact?
CANDDi puts a couple of cookies onto the web browser of every visitor.
Every time a visitor on a new web browser visits your site then we create a new Contact.
When a visitor comes from multiple web browsers on the same machine then we can join these Contacts together (this produces an "unknown / unknown" merged contact)
How does CANDDi know how to merge a "known" contact?
As visitors complete forms on your website then CANDDi captures the personal information and saves this in to the Contact record.
CANDDi spots duplicates within this personal information and (when CANDDi is confident that these are the same two Contacts then we merge them)
